This year the Midwest Rampage is a SEMI-CLOSED LIST Tournament. This means that prior to starting each Round, you will provide your opponent a printed list of your army that includes the Troop or Character type and all mundane equipment. In the interest of keeping everything open and aboveboard, please be prepared to show your opponent your magic items on your full army list as each one uses its effects. After each Round, your opponent MUST be given a FULL copy of your army list. Any discrepancies will be judged harshly in both Sportsmanship and Battle Points and may result in disqualification.
Round 1 Challenges will be accepted this year. Please note the Terrain Contest Rules as someone who has Home-Field advantage in Round 1 may be playing on a specific table. If both players in a Challenge have Home-Field Advantage, it will be up to the Players involved to determine which one actually gets Home-Field for the Round 1 Game.
Armies at the Midwest Rampage 6 are to be constructed to 3000 points. The Grand Army Rules are NOT in effect!!! This means Special Choices are limited to 3 of any single choice and Rare Choices are limited to 2 of any single choice.
Create an army list of no more than 3000 points using a Warhammer army list from the selection given here. Army lists are due to me in some semi-standard electronic format by May 15th. The lists will be reviewed for legal composition. Illegal lists will be rejected
Special and Named Characters ARE allowed.
Any manufacturer's miniatures may be used at this event.
The army is not required to be painted. However, armies that are not fully painted are not eligible for any painting awards.
Armies that have at least 50% of the models painted will be given the minimum painting score. I like to reward people for showing progress and making an effort...Sue me. :o)
Players using armies that are not fully painted to the 3000 point level are not eligible for the following: Best Overall, Best Painted, Player's Choice.
Barring any FAQs or Erratas, this is how certain rules will be ruled by me for the Rampage:
1. ALL scenarios from the BRB are Pitched Battles. Wood Elves get their free wood in every game. The free wood is NOT mysterious.
Terrain for the tables will be determined prior to the tournament using a slightly modified version of the rulebook terrain generation tables. Maps of each table set up will be provided at each table so players may verify and reset the terrain prior to each game. Terrain will be defined on the map and effects will be listed there as well. Cards will be provided for Mysterious Forests and Rivers so that after they are rolled for type in-game, they can be marked for ease of play.
Line of Sight - The True Line of Sight Rules from the 8th Edition rulebook will be in effect. Judges will be available to resolve any issues.
Warhammer Fantasy Battle 8th Edition Rules by Games Workshop* will be used
GW FAQs will be used. Please have a copy of the BRB FAQ and your Army FAQ with you.
