Create an army list of no more than 2250 points using a Warhammer army list from the selection given here. Army lists are due to me in some semi-standard electronic format by April 15th. The lists will be reviewed and since this tournament is primarily about fun, overly heinous or abusive lists will be rejected.
Special and Named Characters are NOT allowed (there are exceptions, primarily Dogs of War Special Generals (Lucretia, Borgio, etc) and Luthor Harkon (cuz he's not that special). Lists requiring Special Characters may still be used but must be used without the Special Character and also must be organizer approved. (so email me before you start painting that Hell Pit list...*just an example*)
Any manufacturer's miniatures may be used at this event.
The army is not required to be painted. However, armies that are not fully painted are not eligible for any painting awards.
Armies that have at least 50% of the models painted will be given the minimum painting score. I like to reward people for showing progress and making an effort...Sue me. :o)
Players using armies that are not fully painted to the 2250 point level are not eligible for the following: Best Overall, Best Painted, Player's Choice.
Continuing the Rampage tradition, Round 3 (final game on Saturday afternoon) WILL BE A 2500 POINT GAME
Game 3 will require each player to bring an additional 250 points on ONE UNIT of Dogs of War troops. These troops may be incorporated into the players 2250 tournament list using the following restrictions:
The pdf files for DoW can be found HERE. Please follow the guidelines given in the pdf files for what units may be used with what armies and what type of unit slot (Core, Special, Rare) the unit uses. Ignore the restriction in most 6th Edition Army Books of a Rare Choice for DoW and the lack of any DoW entry in 7th edition books, the pdf file supercedes this. Ogre Kingdoms units are used per the restrictions in the OK army book.
The 250 points may be spent as follows:
Terrain at the Rampage will be randomly placed before the tournament begins and will be fixed. Wood Elves or any other player bringing an army that frequently rearranges the battlefield are encouraged to bring some type of marker so that terrain features moved during the course of the game may be replaced approximately at their original position after the end of play.
Wood Elf players should bring along an extra forest for use in games designated as Pitched Battles. This wood should be no larger than 9" in any direction and should have a surface area of no more than 36 square inches (6"x6", 9"x4", etc). The GW Woods IS ALLOWED to be used by Wood Elves as their extra forest.
The Building Rules from the BRB will be in effect at the MWR. There will be reference cards available on any tables with buildings present for use but it would be good for players to at least be familiar with the rules for them from the BRB. BUILDING RULES ARE NOT OPTIONAL!!!!!
Line of Sight - Hills, Buildings, Woods, large pieces of impassable terrain, all block Line of Sight. Units behind these features may not be seen (must be completely behind, if part of the unit is showing, any bases which can be seen may be targeted), including Large Targets. All blocking terrain is assumed to be of infinite height.
It is the opinion of the tournament organizer that clipping is some of the most vile gamey-ness to ever hit the tabletop. It is highly discouraged at the Rampage. Realizing however, that some do prefer this approach, the following rules will be in force regarding clipping situations.
1. If BOTH players agree to use clipping, this must be noted on the pre-game score-sheets by circling "Using Clipping" and initialed by both players.
2. For all other situations, the sliding method will be used, with units of both players sliding equally to align the units as squarely as possible. If one unit cannot be so moved (due to impassable terrain, etc) then only one unit will slide.
3. The slide is a completely free movement that occurs after the unit has been brought into full contact using the standard rules for Charging. A slide move will not cause a unit to fail a charge, nor will it cause a failed charge to succeed.
4. Sliding is not performed until all charging units have completed standard charge moves.
Although Rhinox Cavalry are allowed and welcome at the Midwest Rampage (far be it from me to tell someone they can't use their $200 unit of models!), they cannot be affected by Gut Magic. To allow this makes the unit obscenely hard and overpowering. Gut Magic may only be cast on normal Ogre Units and not on Rhinox Cavalry (either normal or Bull Rhinox).
Warhammer Fantasy Battle 7th Edition Rules by Games Workshop* will be used
Direwolf FAQ will be used. The FAQ is available here
